What We Do

Eight disciplines.
Deployed with context.

Every service we offer is shaped by a decade of understanding how African organisations actually operate — the infrastructure constraints, the payment realities, the regulatory environment, and the talent dynamics that make building here different.

01

Custom Software Development

We build software that fits how your organisation actually works — not how a foreign software company assumed it would. Every engagement starts with a discovery phase where we map your actual processes, identify what's broken, and design a system that solves the real problem. We've seen too many African institutions running on expensive foreign software that requires workarounds for every local requirement. We fix that.

Full-stack web applications, internal tools, operational platforms, data pipelines, and legacy system rewrites. We handle the full cycle from requirements through to deployment, documentation, and handover.

Real-world use cases
County treasury replacing a broken IFMIS workaround with a custom expenditure tracking system that syncs with the national accounting system
Hospital chain integrating four disconnected tools (HIS, billing, pharmacy, lab) into one system with a shared patient record
Logistics company replacing WhatsApp groups and paper manifests with a real operations platform including proof-of-delivery and client portal
SACCO replacing a 2009-era Access database with a modern core banking-adjacent system that handles loans, savings, and dividend calculations
React / Next.js Node.js / Laravel PostgreSQL REST / GraphQL APIs AWS / Azure Offline-first PWA
02

SaaS Product Development

We build multi-tenant SaaS platforms from scratch — architecture, backend services, subscription billing, role-based access, audit logs, and everything a production-grade SaaS needs before it acquires its first paying customer. We don't just build the product; we help you think through pricing strategy, go-to-market approach, and the technical architecture decisions that will either serve or haunt you at scale.

We work with founders who have strong domain knowledge and need a technical co-founder-level partner. We also work with established businesses that have a proven internal workflow they want to productise.

Real-world use cases
A microfinance institution that built its own loan origination logic over 15 years — we help them package it as a SaaS for other Kenyan MFIs and SACCOs
An agtech founder with strong farmer networks who needs a marketplace, working capital product, and mobile app built quickly enough to use during the planting season
A law firm with a valuable contract management workflow in spreadsheets — we build the real product version with collaboration, e-signing, and client portals
Multi-tenant architecture Subscription billing RBAC Audit trails M-Pesa / Flutterwave billing Tenant isolation
03

Mobile App Development

Cross-platform mobile applications built in Flutter — one codebase, iOS and Android, with offline-first architecture baked in from day one. Every mobile product we build is tested on mid-range Android devices on 3G connections, because that's the real-world condition for the majority of African users. We also build USSD flows and PWAs for contexts where smartphone penetration doesn't justify a native app.

Field-agent apps for insurance, agriculture, and healthcare. Citizen-facing government apps. Logistics driver apps. Consumer-facing marketplace apps. If it needs to work on a phone in Africa, we've built it.

Real-world use cases
Insurance company deploying field agents to onboard farmers — offline biometrics, GPS farm plot capture, works without signal, syncs when back in town
County government permits app handling M-Pesa payments and push status notifications for business licence applications
Hospital network app for community health workers — home visit records, escalation flags, report submission without needing a mobile data plan
Flutter (iOS + Android) Offline-first sync USSD via Africa's Talking Progressive Web Apps Biometric integration Push notifications

AI & Automation Solutions

We integrate AI into operational systems as genuine workflow improvements — not as showcase features on a demo that nobody uses. Our primary LLM layer is the Anthropic Claude API, selected for its large context window (essential for processing long tender documents and medical records), reliability, and performance on structured output tasks. We're opinionated about this: AI is useful when it replaces a manual step that was slow, expensive, or error-prone. Not as a general-purpose chatbot nobody asked for.

Document intelligence, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, NLP for Swahili and other African languages, and process automation for repetitive workflows.

Real-world use cases
Procurement authority using AI to screen tender submissions for bid-rigging patterns and collusion signals — in minutes, not weeks of manual review
Commercial bank extracting, validating, and routing KYC documents from mobile uploads, cutting account opening from 5 days to 4 hours
Maize processor using demand forecasting against seasonal patterns and distributor history to right-size weekly production runs
Anthropic Claude API Document intelligence TensorFlow Lite (on-device) Predictive analytics Process automation Swahili NLP
05

Cloud & DevOps

Infrastructure design, cloud migration, CI/CD pipeline setup, containerisation, monitoring, disaster recovery, and ongoing infrastructure management. We work primarily on AWS and Azure, with strong knowledge of Safaricom Cloud, Angani, and SEACOM data centres for clients with data residency requirements under Kenya's Data Protection Act. We architect for Kenya's power realities — redundancy and failover are not extras, they're defaults.

We're not infrastructure consultants who hand you a diagram. We build and manage the infrastructure alongside the application, so performance and reliability are owned by the same team that understands the product.

Real-world use cases
SACCO with critical data on a physical server in a back room — migrated to managed cloud with automated daily backups replicated to a Nairobi data centre, 2-hour disaster recovery SLA
Kenyan fintech on a single AWS instance in us-east-1 — re-architected with regional edge caching, cutting Nairobi user latency by 60%
Ministry needing to host a public-facing system locally for data sovereignty compliance — designed hybrid architecture meeting legal requirements without sacrificing performance
AWS / Azure Angani (Nairobi) Docker / Kubernetes GitHub Actions CI/CD Data sovereignty Disaster recovery
06

UI/UX Design

Product strategy, user research, information architecture, wireframing, visual design, and design systems. We run field research with actual users — not assumption-driven personas built in an air-conditioned Nairobi office. Our design process accounts for low-literacy users, multilingual interfaces (Swahili, English, and local languages), small screens on variable connectivity, and high-sun outdoor readability on phones.

Every design we ship comes with a documented design system. Your in-house team or the next agency you hire can extend it consistently without starting from scratch.

Real-world use cases
County government portal with 84% mobile abandonment rate — root cause was a 14-step form assuming desktop users with stable internet. Redesigned for 3-step mobile completion
Kenyan insurance brand needing visual consistency across every branch and channel without looking like it was designed in London for London users
Agricultural platform where 40% of target users had low literacy — icon-first navigation, voice note support, and visual crop catalogues replacing text-heavy forms
Figma design systems User research Multilingual UI Accessibility (WCAG) Low-bandwidth design Prototype testing

System Integration

This is where most African software projects fall apart — not in the application code, but in the integrations. M-Pesa Daraja APIs change with minimal notice. NHIF portal behaviour is inconsistent. eCitizen APIs are poorly documented. KRA iTax has specific format requirements that aren't written down anywhere. We've been through all of them. Every integration we've built is wrapped in our own abstraction layer, so upstream API changes don't cascade into production incidents for our clients.

We also build integration middleware for organisations whose internal systems were built in five different eras and need to talk to each other without a full rewrite.

Real-world use cases
School fees system accepting M-Pesa, Airtel Money, bank transfer, and card — single integration layer, automatic reconciliation against student records
Hospital billing validating patient NHIF/SHA cover in real-time at triage, before the patient sits with a doctor — eliminating end-of-day reconciliation surprises
Logistics platform booking NTSA-compliant manifests, paying county road levies, and generating KRA-compatible invoices inside a single workflow
M-Pesa Daraja API NHIF / SHA API KRA iTax eCitizen Kenya MTN MoMo / Airtel Money NTSA TIMS Flutterwave / Pesapal Africa's Talking (USSD/SMS)

Website Design & Hosting

Not every business needs a custom system — sometimes you just need a clean, professional website that loads fast, works on a phone, and makes people trust you enough to call. We build exactly that, priced so it's actually within reach: from KES 15,000, with hosting and a domain name included for the first year. No hidden costs, no surprise renewal shock — we tell you upfront what year two costs too.

Perfect for small businesses, consultants, NGOs, and personal brands that need to look credible online without paying custom-software prices. Built on the same design standards as everything else we ship — just scoped smaller and priced lower.

Real-world use cases
A consultant with no website losing referrals to competitors who show up on Google — live in a week, with a booking form and WhatsApp click-to-chat built in
A small retailer needing a simple catalogue site with M-Pesa till number and location map — no e-commerce complexity, just enough to be findable
An NGO needing a credible donor-facing website before a grant application deadline — designed, built, and live in under two weeks
From KES 15,000 Hosting & Domain Included Responsive Design WhatsApp Integration Basic SEO Setup 5–7 Day Turnaround
